About Me!

Hey, my name is Deanna Simmons and this is The Note! The note is a site where you can keep up with Florida music and the places I go that involve music. I started writing about music when I was in high school and taking pictures for my friends. I've gone to their concerts and gone to the studio with them, and it's all been an experience that I wanted to share with people. When I started as a journalism major at FGCU, all I wanted to do was write about music and entertainment.

Any of the photography here on this site is my own, via my photography website, "SecondStar Photography". This site will mainly focus on unheard and unseen talent, or talent that is still very local to the area. You can contact me if you or someone you know has a band that's interested. Another thing you can do is check out my articles and interviews with the artists via the artist tab, my own tabs for them, or my youtube channel. Any interviews that I do will be in video form to where you can hear the music for yourself and hear the artist's story. I very much believe in the idea that music is best heard and seen through experience, so I'll bring you along with me for the musical ride! As for genre, it doesn't matter. Whatever genre there is, I'll be happy to listen and interview. So if you're looking for country, I'm sure it'll be here. Same goes for alternative and even screamo, if you're into that.

I hope to keep this site going for the foreseeable future and to give a voice to the musicians that may not have their voice yet in the music world. I hope you enjoy your time here, and if you have any questions, feel free to send me an email!
